Description

As the GM for Toronto, you are an experienced people leader, with strong operations expertise and a passion for creating exceptional client experiences. Your role will be to manage the daily operations for Toronto. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience using a data driven approach to optimize processes and manage people performance to improve productivity and accuracy. You will create and manage various processes to ensure we cultivate strong relationships and build trust with clients by continuously delivering our service as promised.

As part of the ShuffleSpace leadership team you will be responsible for the P&L for the Toronto market. You will work closely with Sales to ensure the right client mix in your market and growth that you can successfully execute on. Ultimately, you will ensure that we are meeting our client experience, financial and operations goals for your market. As our operations team is expected to grow over 300% in the next 12 months a big focus will be on hiring, coaching and empowering the operations and client support teams to deliver on our client promise; in doing so, you will help establish our reputation as an excellent logistics partner to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Toronto operations, including the running of an 80,000 square foot warehouse and client logistics through management of our operations and client support teams.
  • P&L responsibility for the Toronto market, setting challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance and profitability. Track service margins and other KPIs to ensure we are meeting and exceeding our targets.
  • Drive productivity through process standardization and effective training programs. Monitoring daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics to ensure SLAs are being met.
  • Ensure effective hiring strategies, onboarding, performance management, and team retention to ensure we can keep up with planned growth and client needs.
  • Create a highly inclusive culture to ensure employees can thrive while focusing on driving personal and professional development.
  • Create a safe and organized environment ensuring the team is accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Research and implement new directives for business growth and to continuously optimize operational processes to increase accuracy and speed.
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth. Contribute to quarterly and annual strategic planning.
  • Use creative problem solving to ensure client issues are resolved quickly and to their satisfaction, prioritizing the client experience while creating sustainable cost-effective solutions for ShuffleSpace.
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Share and implement operational best practices across different markets.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Operations leader in a start-up environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and lead a high performing team
  • Proven track record of using data to optimize operational processes
  • Experience in managing 5 star client experience
  • Familiarity with our clients’ industries or in storage solutions, warehousing industries is a plus
